The session of DRM on E-Book Industry co-sponsered by Digital Content Industry Promotion Office in MOEA and Association of Taiwan Digital Publishing Alliances hit the road in the International Conference Hall of Chinese Culture University City Divisionin this afternoon. Simon Blake-Wilson, the manager of the embedded security division in SafeNet and Humphrey Chan, the vice president in the Asia Pacific District, were both invited to lecture the session.

Chairman Ko and secretary-general Wong of Association of Taiwan Digital Publishing Alliances are both the pioneers in the expansion of digital publish industry in Taiwan. In this session, some leading firms of digital publish business expressed their opinions about the general situations and future prospect in this industry.

Chan noted, the trend of cloud-computing lied to the protection of information. As for the publishing industry, the most important asset is the content. Therefore, the biggest problem is how to prevent the contents from piracy. “Content” really matters in the ebook industry. We used to have the firewall on Internet. But the main concern of information safety has turned to the protection of information.
The primary concern of this session is to intensify the proprietary protection of digital contents, to the benefit of all the related firms in the prioritization of digital protection mechanism. 2009/12/03
